Avoid fines! Use auction trolleys for their intended purpose03 May 2019
Auction trolleys are useful objects and always will be! Unfortunately, we have noticed that people do not always use the auction trolleys for their intended purpose. This puts pressure on the number of auction trolleys available for the logistics processes. In order to prevent this, Royal FloraHolland intends to take further steps to encourage correct use of the auction trolleys.
Supervision and enforcement pertaining to the proper use of auction trolleys will be tightened from 1 August 2019 onwards. We are informing you about this in advance so that you have enough time to get used to this and can adjust your processes if necessary.
What is improper use?
According to the General Terms and Conditions for Auction Trolleys (article 3.1), auction trolleys are intended exclusively for the transportation of Products and/or Packaging for which the transactions have been or will be settled through Royal FloraHolland. Improper use refers to any use of the auction trolleys that is not connected to the primary processes in relation to ornamental plants or flowers. This includes storage of products that are not floriculture-related, such as TVs, household goods, car tires and non-recyclable or unsorted waste.
What will change?
The general terms and conditions and guidelines for the correct use of auction trolleys will not change. However, we will perform stricter checks and enforce the ban on improper use. The objective is to increase the availability of auction trolleys.
